The Heart Behind the Movement
The seeds of the Music Mavens of Texas Association were planted three years ago, standing in the back of a music venue. As I watched the show, the disparity became impossible to ignore: the way female artists were promoted, supported, and celebrated was vastly different from their male counterparts. I started asking questions—to the artists, the managers, and the venues—and the answers confirmed what I felt in my gut. There was a gap that needed to be bridged.
A Mission Answered
In January 2026, I took that vision to prayer. I asked God for clarity: “Is this just a hobby, or can I truly make a difference for these women?” The answer was a resounding call to action. That lead to the birth of the MMTA, followed quickly by the creation of our Awards program. I realized that these women didn’t just need a platform to stand on; they needed to be seen, honored, and rewarded for their relentless drive. We aren't just giving them a stage; we are showing them—and the world—that we see their hustle and we are here to champion their legacy.
Our Vision for the Texas Maven
We believe that "Texas Grit" looks different on a woman—it’s soulful, resilient, and remarkably driven. Our goal is to ensure that every female artist, songwriter, and industry professional has the resources, the network, and the stage they deserve. Through the Midnight Maven Podcast and the MMTA Awards, we are creating a cycle of recognition that turns raw talent into a lasting legacy.
