For 20 years, my lens has been a witness to stories of grit, transformation, and undeniable talent. But as I’ve navigated the music scenes from the heart of East Texas to the neon lights of Nashville, I’ve noticed a consistent truth: The women of Texas music fight harder, stay longer, and carry a brand of "no-quit" spirit that deserves a stage of its own.
Today, I am proud to officially announce a new Jamie Goode Studios™ trademarked series: Music Mavens of Texas.
This isn’t just a photography project. This is a movement. MMOT was born from the belief that there is undeniable power in women supporting other women. In a male-dominated industry, it is easy for the "lifestyle blur" of the crowd to wash out the individual artist. My mission is to use "The Science of the Glow" to pull these women into the sharp, editorial focus they deserve.
We are moving beyond the standard headshot to create a Visual Handshake—images that capture the elegance, allure, and raw strength of the female voice in Texas music.
We are kicking things off in a big way on February 1st with our premier spotlight artist, April N. Smith, in honor of her new single release. But April is just the beginning of the fire we’re lighting.
Over the coming months, the MMOT series will be diving deep into the journeys of some of the most influential and rising voices in the state. Keep your eyes on the spotlight for upcoming features on:
Every month, we will feature a new "Masterpiece" spotlight, alongside weekly updates on what’s moving and shaking in Texas music—from the Top 100 charts to the "must-see" shows across the state.
If you are a female artist with a story to tell, or if you know a woman who is currently out-working everyone in the room, apply to be a Maven. One lucky artist featured this year will win a full $700 Branding Shoot at Jamie Goode Studios to help launch their next era.
The stage is set. The lights are dialed in. It’s time to meet the Mavens.
Stay Iconic,
Jamie Goode Founder, Music Mavens of Texas
